How many people attended your Wedding Reception?

Well, my reception in 1969 was in the church Fellowship Hall, which was the usual for my group.

You just posted a wedding invitation up on the main bulletin board and everyone knew they were invited. You had no idea how many would come....you just made sure you had enough cake, punch, nuts, mints, etc. to go around to feed the multitude. No loaves or fishes needed...LOL.

Very few brides in my age/friends group had "outside" receptions with dinner and alcohol.

I'd say there were maybe a hundred at the reception, counting the kids.

I can't remember.. there was a lot mainly from his side, because we only gave people a week's notice, all his relatives lived locally, whereas except for my siblings all my family live in Scotland or overseas..... he comes from a big family... so maybe 60 or more.... very good for a week's notice..

We got married on the Island of Santorini - we eloped! There was the official, a photographer, a videographer and our guide.
About a month later we got a big package with our wedding album and a video that they had done post production to add titles and music.

I don't know. What I do know is that the cake was huge, the alcohol was almost not enough. The small village where my wife lived, everyone was invited. The reception was at her uncles restaurant. Seating for 200 inside & a huge parking lot, both were filled to capacity. We left at midnight, we found out later the partying went on till dawn.

4 people. Myself and my hubby, the minister who performed our service and a witness who signed the paperwork. We had been together 25 years before we could actually get married and were actually very blase about it. We knew we would be together through thick and thin. We did it for health and financial reasons, but we both were still teary-eyed when we said the vows.

Such a beautiful picture and how dapper you both look!

We love Santorini and have been to Oia many times. What an idyllic spot for a wedding. Thank you for sharing!

My sibling's wedding in 68, had been in the local papers as the wedding of the decade. 125 at Church and dinner, over 300 for evening reception. I'd been the flower girl with medical makeup as my nose had been broken a few days earlier.

My own, including the Reverend, a baker's dozen... Looking back at it, we really should had left a week before and eloped, just the two of us in Niagara Falls.

I disliked the attention at my sibling's wedding. I'd told my Father not too planned mine that way. Sadly, he passed away 11 years before I got married.

My dress, shoes and veil, delivered two days before our wedding day, weren't the items I'd purchased 8 months earlier. The two bridal store attendants were fired for their mistakes but I wasn't able to get replacement.

It was very uncomfortable attire and nothing else was found in a frantic Friday shopping trip... I was very blue...

My Mom had 6 brothers and 6 sisters and my DAD came from a family of 8 siblings my in-laws also came from a large family so we had 200 pople at our wedding.

Didn't have a reception. Just our folks, a couple who stood for us and the minister made up the ceremony. We headed off for a 3 day honeymoon before I had to return to the ship and back to sea.
The simple ceremony has lasted us for almost 68 years without the reception so I guess we didn't miss much.
