We moved many times when I was a child ... and that made for it's own problems for us kids constantly moving schools.. but as an Adult, I've also moved house a lot because I was married to a Royal Nay Officer, and almost every year he was being relocated.. so by the time my daughter was 4 we'd moved 5 times ..

We started in the county of Hampshire.. then Devon.. then Hertfordshire, then West London.. then back to Hertfordshire..

I have lived and owned this particular Herts house for over 40 years... but during that time, I've also located for different periods of time either for work or pleasure... to Germany, Italy and Southern Spain.. the latter is a home I still own

So how many times have you moved house, or relocated for a substantial period of time, as an Adult, and do you think you will move again?

I too have moved a lot. I never feel settled anyplace.

My mother always wanted to move. Then didn't like the next place. Blamed others. Moved again.
My mother was the same Remy.. she was clearly blaming the problems my father was causing her on her own surroundings. Perhaps if we moved somewhere else, things would be better, it never was .. but that's for a different thread I think

After college (1967), I moved from my parents' home (Fairview Park, OH) to an apartment in Arlington, VA, with a roommate. We parted ways after 6 months and I moved by myself to another apartment in the same city. After my wife and I got married in 1971, we moved to an apartment in McLean, VA. In 1973 we moved to our first house in Rockville, MD, and in 1979, with our first two daughters, to our second house in Laytonsville, MD (where we welcomed two more daughters into the world). My wife died in 2014, and I moved with my dog to my current home (retirement community) in Adamstown, MD.

So to answer the question, that is 6 times for me as an adult (not counting various dorms in college); we never moved when I was a child.

How about, I still live in the house where I was born back in 1933. We built a new home in 1962, and lived there for 3 years until my folks died and we were left with the new house and the old homestead, only a couple of hundred feet apart. We chose to move back to the old home and rented out the new place 'til we could figure out where we wanted to settle.

We had 4 little ones, all under 10 years old at the time and the old home was larger and just felt more comfortable. We settled there, leased the new house for a few years and finally sold it. The people who bought it still live there and are still there and are our neighbors.

WE gave this house to our youngest daughter back in 1995 with the condition that we'd share the home with them for our remaining years and it's been a wonderful arrangement. For Many of these past years we spent winters in Florida and spring and fall at another daughter's cottage in Maine. Never a worry about an empty home and someone to care for it in our absence. We helped them with their 2 kids as they went through their school years and now they're grown (still here at home) and we get the helping hands when we need them as we close in on 90.

Probably not a choice for many folks but with our family it has worked out well.

I left home quite early
Never really had a 'place' for years
Never had enough stuff to need one

Met my woman
Moved several times early on

Had kids
Planted ourselves

Bought and sold several places
Sometimes we put our heads together for a total recall session
Commence to correct each other
Get confused
Take a nap

As an adult I lived in an apartment in my early 20's. Bought a house in 1973 and lived there for 30 years. Sold that house and moved into a high-rise apartment where I am now. I'll be moving again (hopefully for the last time) in January to an over 55 community in northeast Pennsylvania. That will put me within 35 miles of my son and his family.

Let's see.........
8 in NYC & suburbs; 4 more moving around with husband; Zurich, Oxford, London
15 but I can maybe think of more

Moved back to childhood home 20 years ago and unfortunately I don't think I'll have more adventures. I loved moving to different places and living there!

Me too.. and the only reason I lived all these years in this house was that I didn't want my daughter to have to suffer as we did as kids, never putting down roots for more than a couple of years, always being the new kid in school.. I was determined she would grow up with the friends she made in Kindergarten, and still have them as friends when she finally left school.. and that's what happened.

I never did move from here.. altho' I did get my fill by working and or buying property in other countries during this time, and living there for long periods... after daughter finished her education...

I still want to move from here, and hopefully before I get too much older I will

I know. My mother decided she wanted to move to the country. About 7 miles out of town. Then decided she hated it. Too far out. Raged and screamed at my stepfather that he had wanted to move there. A total lie. She made every decision and then blamed others when not to her liking. It's diabolical.

Lets, see ignoring shorter moves, stays of less than a year, and moves to and from college:

Utah to Louisiana - age 22
Louisiana to Wyoming - age 25
Wyoming to Utah - age 27
Utah to Maryland - age 30
Maryland to California - age 32
California to Ohio - age 34
Ohio to Utah - age 40
Utah to Florida - age 42
Florida to Utah - age 65

Shorter stays in Oregon, Idaho, Mississippi, and Wyoming.

States lived in as a youth: Louisiana, New Jersey, Florida, moved to Utah at age 16.

No more planed, but who knows what the future will bring.
