How many times were you operated on?

Oral surgery a bunch of times, and another not-so-internal surgery. Was 5 minutes away from a cyst removal on my thigh last year but the surgeon could not find the cyst and didn't want to go cutting me up to find it - Bless her for putting my welfare ahead of her own interest! The cyst eventually got smaller and smaller to where it is now almost gone. Glad I did not have that surgery as the recovery time would have been a few months until I could work out again with my walk-jog.

I had major surgery three times, and several times for minor in office skin cancer removal. The first major surgery was when I was 14 and I wiped out on a Tobaggan and gave myself a huge Hernia. The second was when I was 54 for Stomach Cancer and third time was when I was 60 for Colon Cancer. And I was told I had it two days before I turned 60. The last two were from smoking for 40 years.

This Friday I'm having major surgery so that will make it 5 times....
Wishing you well Holly, and a speedy recovery.
When I was 14 a car driver knocked me down on a pedestrian crossing. After three operations my toes still refused to wriggle, amputation loomed. Mr. Penrose, a surgeon in his 70's said to his younger colleagues. "Don't take the lad's leg off, let me try." In British medical hierarchy a surgeon is called Mr. not Dr. It's a tradition. "Wriggle your toes for me," Mr. Penrose said. Wriggle, wriggle, wriggle. My Dad wept. Twelve months in hospital awaited, but I still had my leg.
A couple of years ago I had a hip replacement and I remember something else too, about twenty years ago. Ahem, I had a varicose vein removed from my scrotum.

Does oral surgery count? I've had certain oral surgeries a few times. And I had my tonsils removed and I had scar revision surgery once so three times? My surgeries have not been deep or serious and I do hope I never require one of those.

Don't know if cataracts count, but both eyes done, 10 yrs apart, and 1 hernia surgery. 15 yrs ago, a kidney stone would not dissolve and had to have it removed. That's it.
Of course cataracts count. Condolences on the kidney stone: that pain is terrible I am told.
