How Many Unopened Emails Do You Have?

On various forums I follow there’ll be screenshots of a phone or computer screen. The emails aren’t the point of the screenshots but sometimes it’s hard to not be shocked seeing the red circle around the numbers (Apple). It was bad enough seeing people with 100s, worse with 1000s and downright jaw dropping to see more than 100,000.

I use to think I was being lazy when I had 35.

I have none..unless any have come in in the last 10 minutes.. I look at my emails 3 or 4 times a day, and read & clear..

On average over 3 email addresses I get about 50 or 60 a day.. no spam because any spam goes straight into the spam folder..

Anyone who has thousands of unread mails.. is clearly someone who doesn't read their mails at all.. or is the victim of a lot of spam

It’s a holdover from my working days to handle each item once.

I go through the mail as it arrives and respond, file, or delete before moving on to the next.

It’s the same with bills, automate them or pay them as they arrive.

Yes, I do the same I probably have 15 folders that I move things to that I need to keep.

I have 2 e-dresses, only one of which I view regularly. Usually the other one has hundreds unread--but I recently was embarrassed when I missed a fairly important message from my brother. Yesterday I purged the 300 that had accumulated, so today I can happily say, I have ZERO.

I open all of them, but if any contain something I want to think about and decide what to do later, I leave them in the inbox so I will be reminded to give them more attention when I'm ready.

I mentioned this in a previous thread on this. Seeing large numbers of unread messages makes me twitch. Not sure how it started, but I have to, at least, look at an email as soon as I know it's there. I may not action it right away - I do have a ToDo folder for those. I would see co-workers with hundreds of unread emails and my skin would crawl. Thank goodness stuff caught in the spam filter doesn't show up in the unread count!

I get so much junk and don’t really know how to keep from getting spammed. I hate email and always ask people I really want to hear from to text me instead.
