We've been tipping a lot higher since the pandemic started, to support those who made deliveries from local restaurants and put their health in jeopardy, they usually ring the bell and leave the package on my doorstep. We also consider the distance of the restaurant we're ordering from and the amount of the bill. Generally we tip anywhere from $15-25 for food deliveries. Don't really go by recommended percentages. I tip in cash when possible.

Yeah, I also pay in cash
I put the cash tip in the hand of the server
(rounded up from 20% to the whole dollar)
and pay the bill with cash
Seems some eateries add the tip to the bill, and stiff the server a bit

My wife pays the check most of the time. She keeps it low as we are not well off enough to be big tippers. If I am happy with the service I will tell her to add a little extra to the tip.

At first, when I moved to Australia, it was difficult to lose the tipping habit. Eventually, I stopped, as it seemed to embarrass those on the other end of it.

If I ever go to USA I would tip there as that is their custom.
But it isn't in Australia and we don't want it creeping in.
I appreciate people like yourself who adust to our 'Rome' and do as we do here.

Unless the service is bad, I'll tip 20% or more (if the service is exceptional). However, last time I was in Atlantic City, I even tipped a waitress who provided next to no service. I even had to ask other waitresses for what I wanted. But i called the young lady over and told her how I felt in front of her supervisor as she readied to leave and pick up her young daughter (I heard her mention that). I felt like she was probably struggling and I remember what it was like when I was "Poor Girl", raising my son on my own.
