How Much Stuff Do You Have That You Really No Longer Need?

I pretty much toss what I find I no longer need. I have a friend that keeps almost everything. He is not quite a hoarder but he does have what I consider useless junk. Also, what have you bought that you never used? I bought a vey expensive juicer that I never even plugged in.

Its mostly clothing that is almost big enough to wear. I just almost can button the waist or zip up the side. AND I'm absolutely positive that I can get into just as soon as I lose a little weight. Either that, or it's the fuchsia and yellow top that I'm pretty sure that I can soon find something else to wear with (and I've been looking for three years...…)

I have found that if you think you don't need something, all you have to do is get rid of it. Then, within a very short time, you will find that you need it.

My husband is a keeper of useless stuff. and I am the one who gets rid of things. For the last year I have been cleaning out drawers and cupboards and closets. It's been liberating. I have had to sneak a few things past the Hubs (shhh! don't tell) but so far he hasn't missed a thing. Amazing how much we collected in the last 45 years.

I have a lot of stuff in closets, drawers, etc. NONE OF MY STUFF IS USELESS. I'm just not using it now. I know exactly where every shred of it is. Say if I need something, I know where to get it, but when I go to get it; I can't find it. I can search for days and it won't turn up. So, I have to go the the store and buy one. After, finishing with it, I go to put it away where I will know where to find it in the future. And that's where I find the five others I had. Still all useful stuff!!!!

We probably have a lot of stuff that we could let go of, but why? This is our home, these are our things. When we shuffle off the mortal coil our kids can take, give, toss, etc. I don't like clutter but I do enjoy my things.

Oh, this has happened to me so many times. Just not too long ago, I started to get rid of something and then I asked myself, "Why, as soon as you do, you'll be needing it", so I kept it.

If I could wiggle my nose, and put myself in an empty house, where I could buy a few things to furnish it, and a few changes of clothes, I'd do it, right now. The gf feels about the same, but she might freak out if it actually happened, as she's a clothing and jewelry collector. In truth, I'd feel very vulnerable without my large collection of tools.

A LOT. But not as much as we used to have. We had waaaay too much storage at our last house,so got rid of lots when we moved here 7 years ago. Now,if all goes right,we will be moving again in a couple of months and will have more storage, but will again be getting rid of things before we move. If hubby had his way,we would have nothing-he looooves to throw stuff away. He hasn`t been doing too well at it all winter because our driveway, which is gravel, has had a couple of inches of standing water because of all the rain we`ve had.To clean the garage,he has to take nearly everything out and he would have to set it in water so he hasn`t been able to do it. It has finally dried up this week,so he decided to do some weedeating this morning. Ummmm, can`t find the weedeater-buried in the garage somewhere. During the winter, our garage doubles as our hay storage since a huge oak fell and smashed our Tuffshed. So it gets messy and crowded in there. New place has designated hay storage-yay!

We have lots that we could probably do without , but I like them.... paperwork is mostly what I need to get rid of, I have so many box files that need to be sorted out, but otherwise we make regular trips to the recycle centre..as we did today!! Took a couple of chests of drawers, a couple of plastic garden chairs, and my old flat screen monitor to the recycle centre this morning... I don't like stuff taking up unnecessary space ..I just can't seem to do the same with all the filing!!

Everyone I know has stuff that I consider to be useless, LOL!!!

I have quite a bit of wonderful stuff that I no longer need and I've gradually been getting rid of it.

As my world gets smaller, the less things I own the easier it will be to adapt.

Not much room in a coffin! :):playful::eek:nthego:

Way too much, regardless of how many times I give it up.....

Letting go is hard for me,but I can do it, it just takes time.

I have to be ready to turn it loose and move on.

I try and keep the stuff I have to a minimum, can’t stand clutter. Just spring cleaned my room and had very little to toss. But, hey, I sure could use a juicer, an expensive one, lol

Souvenirs, but it is nice to reminisce. They are like old friends.

I have probably more books than years left to read them.
