Knew a guy during the war who would pull leaves off of trees and try to smoke them. His name was Crazy Richard.Have you tried to smoke it yet? It might be worth quite a bit on the street.![]()

Ewww! A lot of people back in the 60s, tried smoking various substances hoping to find an alternative to weed that was cheaper and legal.Knew a guy during the war who would pull leaves off of trees and try to smoke them. His name was Crazy Richard.
Also the sap can cause a rash and on your skin and burns your eyes if you happen to rub them while it's on your hands (or gloves).I put it up for sale on FB Marketplace and Online Garge sale. I had more inquiries about this than anything else I've ever listed.
One woman said she wanted to put it in her classroom for her students to take care of. I asked what age the students were. She said 'first grade'. I told her with the sharp thorns it probably wouldn't be a good plant to have around youg children. She replied that she hadn't thought of that, I guess I talked her out of the sale.
Another woman demanded more photographs - like what? It's a plant. It looks about the same no matter what angle you look at it.
Someone was supposed to come yesterday afternoon and get it, but she never showed up. I PMed her an hour after the designated time and her only comment was "Sorry". Now what can that mean - Sorry I forgot? Sorry I changed my mind? I then PMed and asked if she wanted to set another time and she hasn't replied - yet.
and all/most of those trimmings could go to start new plants. long, kitchen tongs would come in handy... those thornes are rough!View attachment 157594
It can actually be a quite beautiful plant. It's easily pruned to any desired shape (hint hint).![]()
Oh noooo. She cannot do that.Plants are a touchy thing.
Green thumbs have no problem visiting a nursery and spending $$$ on a plant, but when it comes to acquiring a plant from a strangers home, there isn't a lot of push for that.
If you were simply looking to offload the plant, Deb, I would offer it for free... for the taking.
Even then I suspect you may have a hard time seeing it out the door, because not everyone has the room for such a large plant.
