How Often Do You Do Laundry and At Home or Laundromat?

We are not allowed to have washing machines in our apartment complex but we can have electric dryers. So for me it's a combo. I wash downstairs in the laundry room and dry my clothes in my apartment. Doing laundry at laundromats has become so expensive! At least our machines are discounted here. The double loaders, the only ones I use, are $2.30. At laundromats I've gone to the single loaders are $2.50 and doubles are $4.00. The driers are 25 cents for 10 minutes. Forget it if you have a bunch of heavy towels and clothes! If I don't do at least two double loads a week, I fall behind. A few months ago I had to go to a laundromat do play catch up. I'll have to suck it up and get my son to take me again because I have some larger items like comforters and queen sized blankets that won't dry well in my apartment sized dryer, even though it's only slightly smaller than a full sized dryer.

My apartment size HE washer & dryer are downstairs. I have shelves that hold baskets to sort the laundry until it’s ready to do a load. There’s a wooden drying rack and a bar to hang clothes that I don’t want to dry. Probably I do 5 - 7 loads a week, maximum two, maybe three loads in a day. I get great satisfaction in doing the laundry. Yeah, I know, that’s weird.

I do 3 loads a week. There is a laundry room on the lower level of my building. It is $1.75 for the washing machines and $1.50 for the dryer for an hour. I hang all my clothing upstairs in my shower and use the dryer for towels and sheets. I budget $40. a month for laundry but don't usually use it all. Sometimes I do 2 loads one day and towels and sheets the next day.

In my co op apt complex, there are 2 buildings for the residents, everyone is assigned a day/time{2hrs} . In the basement where the laundry rooms are located ,we have use of 3 washers&dryers sign in the book when you do so.The cost is 80 cents, don't know for the dryer since I never use them. Its added on to our monthly fee My time is Sat 11-1, use 1 washing machine,. I do my laundry twice/month If I'm not doing laundry on any given Sat another resident will call &ask if they can take my slot

It costs me at least $6 to wash and dry two loads of laundry at the laundromat. It's like $2.25 for a normal machine. $3.50 for a double I think. If I do two doubles it's almost the entire $10 in quarters.

I a retired senior, live alone in a dry cool climate, don't have sweaty or oily skin, and when at home or about my urban area, don't have many ways to pick up dirt on clothes. Live in a 1960s 2 story quad condo with shared laundry room. Wash $1.50 and dry $1.25. Will wash whenever clothes to wash one load fills up that may be every 3 weeks. Most is bath and cleaning towels and underwear.

Before the pandemic and drought crimped my lifestyle, would more often be out in the field with landscape photography, hiking, backpacking, that readily gets clothes dirty.

I have four sorting baskets in my garage laundry room. When one gets filled I wash it. Most baskets cycle through every 7-10 days and I rarely do more than one load a day now that it's just two of us.

Other than towels and sheets, I only run the dryer for about 15 minutes to blow out wrinkles, then hang it on hangers to finish drying. Even jeans are dry by the next day. (Southern California climate is very helpful that way.)

I've always enjoyed doing laundry. Very zen. I become one with the task. When our kids lived at home I always did their laundry - and that of their sig others when they moved in for a while.
