How often do you shop for new car insurance?

My 6 month renewal is higher priced. My $552 of last Sept just went to $637 for this March, Progressive, was $424 in Mar 2021. I've been with them 4 years now. I'd shop around, but I hate getting all the emails and paper mail for maybe years if I do. I'm curious what would prompt you to seek a better price?

I got the Gecko. To be honest, I can see why the cost of car insurance is so high. You can't get a screw tightened on your car for under $1,000. But I'd have no problem switching companies if I got insurance cheaper.

If my car insurance rises significantly when it's due for renewal then I search , but if it has risen by a nominal amount and I'm already getting a good deal then I don't both looking.. Everyone here says their Insurance has risen exponentially, some have doubled... but mine has only risen £40 since I first took it out with this company 3 years ago...

I'm much like you, I hate the disruption of having to change provider. So when my annual policy comes up for renewal I first ring them up if it has increased more than I like. I firmly but politely say I cannot afford the increase. They usually do me a better price.

Me too. I take my house, car and pet insurance with the same company, I'm sure that gives me a better deal.

We've had the same agency since I had my first car in 1951. My dad went to school with the original owner and the business passed through his son and is now in the hands of his grandson. Have our home-owners policy with them as well. Is it a few bucks more or less ? I don't know but they've always been there over the years, and the few times that I've needed them.

One less problem to worry about IMHO.
