How quickly does time fly for you?

For years I used to say, "10 years ago I......"
One day I decided to examine that premise and started to count back the number of years which the event took place.
Started counting, 10.....20.....30.....35.....37 years ago.
Damn. Since that realisation I have stopped saying, "10 years ago" and now say, "Way back when....."

I hear what you're saying. Every time I mentioned something happening in the 80s (1980s) lol, I have to stop and think how long ago that really was. It's 41 yrs ago!!

Time seems to go so slowly when we are young, doesn't it? We are constantly looking to the future to see what it will bring and never just enjoying the present. Now it seems to fly by and I try to squeeze every moment out of the present. I thought when I retired my days would be long, but they still go by very quickly.

So true, wake up Monday morning then all of a sudden it is Friday.
I remember when I got my first paycheck in 1977.
At the bottom there was my retirement date, 2027. I thought to myself "That is like a hundred years away"
Now it is only 6 years away

Looking at some old photos today I found a picture of my mom and I as we were bringing in some boxes from her house to mine. It was taken the day she moved in with us the year after my dad passed away. I was shocked when I realized she was the same age that I am now.
Where did that time go?
It seemed like yesterday.

I understand, exactly.....I have two weekly pill boxes, one for morning and one for night.....it seems every time I refill them I think...another week gone...

Time passes quickly for me. I remember when I first started chemo, it seemed like it would never end. Then I went to chemo 7 months later, and the nurses told me that it was my last session. I thought, NO! Then I got home and realized I had gotten habituated to chemo, and this was really good news.

This Covid thing has dragged on forever. I realize that, but it doesn't effect how quickly time passes. I think about things that happened decades ago and it seems like it wasn't that long ago.

It amazes me how much faster the days, weeks, months and years fly by the older I get.
It amazes me too, seems like I just wake up, do a few simple chores or errands, walk the dog, make and eat dinner and it's time to get ready to go to bed. Time has gone much more quickly since I retired, I thought it would be the opposite. :(
