There are small ads here on Senior Forums. I look right past them. (I only realized they were there when someone mentioned it in another post.)
We are constantly bombarded with advertising on the internet. I subconsciously ignore them when I can, or easily dismiss them when that is not possible. Tech companies pitch to advertisers that their advertising will reach the right users on various platform aps (Facebook for example). I’m not sure what demographic I fall into, but it is one that no matter how much advertising is presented to me, in whatever fashion, I will never be persuaded to buy any product. When I decide that I need something, which is very seldom, I will either get it at my local grocery store or pharmacy, or find it on Amazon. I usually give money to my kids and grandkids for birthdays and holidays, but if they do tell me there is an item that I can get for them, well I look first on Amazon.
So I’m sure that there are others of you like me. We belong to a demographic that cannot be persuaded to buy anything. The advertisers would go broke if they relied on us! Obviously, however, they are successful with the vast majority of the population.
