How Will You Deal with the High Price of Gas?

unfortunately those who need fuel the most for either getting to work ( remember public transport prices will also rise along with personal car use)... or for heating... will be the ones who just don't have any more money in the pot to find...
You're absolutely right. Many will be hurt severely by the rise in direct fuel costs or generally escalating prices because of increased global and local transportation charges.

Those of us who are largely insulated from these rising costs should bear in how they would have affected us when we had commuting costs and dependent children in our home. Thanks for the compassion check, @hollydolly.

Well. I'll certainly take proper action when I'm in the voting booth this coming November. Until then, I'll just "Grin and Bear it".

Crude oil commodities have been dropping in price. It's at $94.46/barrel at this moment; down from a high of $126.30 last Wednesday. That should translate to lower prices at the pump.

People, in our area, have been driving substantially less. Local traffic on our rural road is a fraction of what it was a few weeks ago, and the gas stations aren't nearly as crowded. Perhaps these prices will change a lot of peoples driving habits, and encourage them to limit their running around.

Well, don't know how widespread, but a friend in Tucson had this happen yesterday. Trucks sit higher off the ground and that made it easy for low life scum.

The local news, this morning, said there has been a Rash of these gas tank thefts in Kansas City, over the past couple of days. It can cost several hundred dollars to get a tank replaced, and likely it would take days to get one....leaving the person without the use of their vehicle.

This is why I was so shcoked when I went out yesterday... I expected the roads to be a lot quieter given the HUGE price now of our fuel..but not a bit of it, in fact for the middle of the day I was shocked to see so much traffic.. it was more like an evening rush hour ..

From what I've read, fuel efficiency begins dropping above 50 mph and falls off a cliff when you get up above 60.
Gas is 3.59 in my neighborhood. Was around 2.79 a month ago. I drive the speed limit to and from work. 40 miles per hour. Dozens of other drivers are angry at me every day. Sorry folks.

Me too. I'm also not a speeder.
Yesterday, I was in a parking lot, waiting for pedestrians to cross in front of me. A woman behind me starts honking. I feel sorry for such morons.

Heard that. In the city where I work, people are still driving like they're on fire. I honestly believe many of them are unaware that racing around burns more gas.
