Howling dogs next door

OMG..they don't bark...?..jeez I wouldn't want one of those coming up behind me silently....:eek::eek:
These two have to be individually introduced to anyone they don't know who comes into the house. Then they are fine as long as my nephew or his wife are there. They are both absolute sweethearts.

They hear a noise outside and they are fast and stealthy. It's nothing, every time. I know, because I go with them. Don't want to miss out on any excitement!

Loki, the male, is very protective of me and ignores his own family if I am there. This is so odd. I've never had someone else's dog become so attached to me. He lies by the front door when I leave, and is sad for a couple of hours.

I have used one of these to stop my dogs from barking.
It does not hurt them, it may scare them like thunder does
some dogs. But it only works on my Jack Russell, his ears are
short and slick haired. My other dog is a beagle mix and has
floppy ears that are covered in thick hair and she can't seem
to hear the ultrasonic beep from it. Oscar just hears it click on
and he's inside in his bed now. He hates thunder and fireworks too.
He quickly knows what he did and goes for months now without
trying to do a bark rant. Just a shooosh! from me and he stops.
Myer ... what can I say she's a female and WILL get her say in.

Never heard of the Vocaroo. Thanks for sharing. Something good came through the howling dogs this time. 🐺🚨🐺 How do you use it?

I see I got a sad face on my post above, let me explain before one thinks I abuse my dogs :ROFLMAO:
I take my responsivity as a pet owner very seriously. For myself, the dogs AND my neighbors.

You never know the kind of neighbors you have so if you are an owner that does not stop those types of
noises that get on people's nerves you take the chance of your dog being harmed for someone thinking
"If they can't shut those dogs up I will" and there are people like that.
A simple noise to the ear is a lot less harmful to the dog than other things that can happen. If a dog responds
to the bark box, they learn fast and rarely sit and bark continuously again. Having 2 dogs it becomes a pack
type thing where they each are urging the other to keep it up.

The real problem is the owners of those dogs in not trying to stop the behavior. If you know them well
enough maybe let them know how it bothers you and ask if they thought about a bark box. They may buy one them self.
If they say it doesn't work, that could be true. But maybe they will begin to go out and attempt to hush them up.
SO yes, I love my dogs dearly and I will find the most effective non-harming way to stop behavior for their safety.

I can understand dogs howling if they hear the noise of a siren. My neighbors dog just howls and cries when it is alone – which is a lot of the time. When the owners are home, all is quiet. I can hear the dog inside my house with the windows all shut. Poor dog. So perhaps people don’t even realize their dog howls/cries when they are away.

Were you using it on your phone or tablet? I read that you said you were recording standing by the fence. I'm always on desktop. Of course, I can record away from my desktop using my phone or camera and then upload, so I don't need Vocaroo. Was wondering in case it should ever be useful to me. Thanks.

I only have a laptop and recorded on that.

everyone here in this apartment complex has a dog. my most recent review of this place went like this:

"If you ever wanted to know what it is like to live in a dog kennel, move here"
