Howling dogs next door

Our daughter lives in a new condo, which is pet-friendly. She shares her dog with her soon-to-be-ex. When we visit her, we see dogs in the elevators, and hear their sounds coming from the units. Nobody seems to be bothered by it.Not sure if that is funny or sad.

I've had dogs my entire life & none of them ever howled or barked at sirens. My husband had a canine at the Sheriff's Office & his dog wasn't bothered by sirens & neither were the other dogs in the unit.
It sounds like it's an owner problem, but the owner should do something about their animals. No other neighbor should have to listen to this. I don't like hearing that neighbors aren't getting along over any issue, but sadly howling/barking dog can lead to that.
My SIL was given the option of either getting rid of her Chihuahua or move out of her apartment because he wouldn't stop barking. It didn't matter if she was home with him or was away. Anyone who walked down the interior hall was barked at through the door or if they were outside through the sliding glass door. Hear a noise, he'd bark, any hour of the day. He wouldn't listen when he was corrected & would try to bite her. She finally got an anti-bark collar that he wears in the apartment all the time, so when he barks now, he corrects himself. She tried to take it off after a while, but he goes back to the barking.

1 or 2 neighbors dogs will howl at sirens, but it's funny when the coyotes start howling at them.

Funny that you mention the coyotes howling, I forgot about them. They are the only ones that howl for sirens in the area.. All of the neighbor dogs are quiet.
