Hows This For A Good Meal?

Yes it looks nice Lon... I've never heard of steel head trout, I almost always have rainbow trout... but that looks like just the right size portion too because trout can be very rich.. especially with the Goat's cheese mash. The place setting is beautiful too... Can you have your meals in your room, if you choose not to go to the restaurant for any reason?

Steelhead trout and rainbow trout are practically the same fish. Usually where I come from the steelhead is a wild fish that we fish for in the spring. They farm them now.

If you can buy Arctic char, that's a beautiful fish meal as well.

Anyway. That looks like a nice meal but what's with the hot dogs on it? An afterthought?

Not a huge fish eater, although last night we did have a Wendy's Fillet Of Cod fish sandwich was is very, very good.

Don't get into the "gourmet" type eating, but do watch Gourmet Cooking Competition on the Food Network/Channel.

Have found out that we aren't into ocean fishing. Guess that's another reason we want to move back to Colorado or into Wyoming........freshwater 'bow fishing. Caught our share of Rainbows at a lake south of Denver, when we live in Parker, CO. Gee, sure do miss the fishing and "beaching" our boat there.

Lon,

The meals in your new home always look wonderful!

To be honest though, I would need to sneak out for a burger or a grilled cheese sandwich every now and then! :)

Yes I can have the same meal brought to my apartment if I wish.

Not hot dogs-----Sliced carrot chunks.

Yes, a steelie is a searun 'bow
very aggressive on the wet end of a line
served fresh is quite hard to beat

good lookin' meal

We also have a fall run of steelhead here which is the best time for me to go fishing. I cast artificial lures and they are agressive. Steelhead are one of the few fish that run upstream after they are on the hook.

It's catch and release for me now without barbed hooks.

Lon, you are enjoying that new senior facility way too much, LOL!

Your meal looks luscious! I think I recently paid $38 for a similar plate at Garre Winery's Cafe, over in Livermore!
