Hunter Biden reaches plea Deal on Taxes.

The guy was/is a drug addict. He's clean now. While he was an active drug addict he lied on the gun buying form and purchased a gun, but he paid his back taxes and is clean, and can never own a gun again.

This is something many Americans have been through. Our prisons are crowded. I suspect this is why people who eschew paying taxes and lie on gun purchase forms don't get lengthy prison sentences. That's why a guilty plea and a deal is what is best.

Move them in and move them out of the justice system. Hunter Biden is small potatoes as they say. Gotta have room for society's killers and the generic malcontents in our corrections institutions.

My son works at the State Correctional Institution. Says they can't get enough people to work there. Says the people incarcerated are a bunch of needy babies too.

More than likely, if Hunter's gun had been used in the act of a crime, the outcome probably would have been different. I like how you wrote "active drug addict." Too many people believe that if an addict gets clean, he is no longer an addict. Not true, Once a person becomes addicted especially to drugs that person will always be an addict. Just like an alcoholic will always be an alcoholic, even after detoxing and rehab.
 

The idea that it's the judge that sets the terms of a plea deal is not accurate. In this case the prosecutor that Trump appointed, who has been investigating Hunter Biden since 2018 made the plea agreement w H Biden's attorneys and later was approved by the judge.
