I am 72 live in West Hollywood which is part of Los Angeles. I am female, single and live alone. I find life rather lonely since retirement. Would like to make online friends as I cannot seem to find any around here. I like politics, the environment, classical and jazz music, history and poker among other interests. I try to keep as fit as possible by healthy eating and exercising.

I have recently put on weight due to a medication I was taking. I suffer from depression which living alone does not help. I realize that keeping busy is the most important thing, although sometimes I just want to chill out as the younger ones say.

I was born in England in a town called Weybridge because there is a bridge over the river Wey. I was an only child of older parents who married in their 30's. I am of German/Austrian and Scots/Irish bloodlines. I first came to the USA as a GI bride in 1969.

Welcome JuneBlossom. You'll fit right in and you will be able to talk to someone at any time of the day or night because there are members from many different time zones. I'm from the east coast of Australia. There are Brits, Canadians, Aussies and the odd Kiwi (sorry Fern, I didn't mean that you are odd). And of course there are Americans in abundance, with many and varied interests we can share.

Here you can converse, debate, argue and share and someone will respond so don't let isolation get you down. If you find someone you can relate to you can also send them a pm if you don't want to share with the whole world.

I hope you will find time spent on this forum fascinating and fruitful.
 
Welcome Juneblossom...I know your childhood town of Weybridge Surrey (now included as part of Greater london) very well.:D.I'm in Hertfordshire..on the borders of North London ..

You've come to the right place to make friends..to join in serious discussions or to just chill out on the humour or Games forums as many of us do..

If you need help in any way with anything to do with the forum, just ask Seabreeze our hard working Moderator or in fact any of us will help with questions like how to stop reciving emails from the forum every day if you don't want them, or how to upload an avatar etc..

Welcome Juneblossom from the central California mountains. I have been to your city many times, in fact I went to a beautiful wedding reception, a few years ago, at the California Institute of Abnormalarts. Have you ever visited CIA, as they call it? :)

This is a great forum full of a lot of really nice people. What sort of work did you do before you retired? I worked in an office, not very exciting. You can click on a person's user name and click on their profile and learn more about each person on the forum. Hope to get to know you better.
