This will be my first trip back to church today. How I miss it! I am walking with a cane slowly. Still going through new pains that tell me new healing is taking place. Exercises and walking and therapy are direly important and I am pushing through to the best of my tolerance and ability. Some people have little or no pain and recovery is easy, not so with me. So, I just want you to know that it is well worth it, I am expecting only the best.

Oh it's only been about a week since you had it done isn't it?...I think you're doing fabulously well..!! 😊

Isn`t it amazing, fanci? M hubby had his knee replacement 3 days ago, came home the next day,and has had not one second of pain. My brother in law came to see him yesterday and was stunned. Expected to find him in bed in extreme pain and instead he was at the kitchen sink doing dishes.(I was at the store or I wouldn`t have let that happen!) I have to keep reminding him to sit down-that`s the only problem with not having pain-you tend to do too much. He can`t wait to get the other one done now-they say he can in 3 months.

Glad to hear you are getting better with each passing day, having a positive attitude certainly well help you in the long run
I remember the first Sun I returned to church,a week after I got home from rehab.I was so happy to be there, thanking members of my 'church family for their prayers and cards.I was still using my cane,a friend came up to me said 'you're still using your sympathy stick' I laughed and so did she. A couple weeks later as I was coming out of the hosptial employee entrance where I worked,I ran into my surgeon. He said'taking your cane for a walk',he knew I loved to walk. The following week when I went to see him,I no longer was using the cane,he was pleased

So glad to hear of your progress! I wasn't on my cane until the second week, still liked my walker around the house. But the exercises and therapy are a must! I was so very glad to get back in church, and the cards were wonderful!

WOW! That is great! No pain! I have had pain since I got out. The pain has lessened to the point I can push through it. The first week was unbearable, but did the therapy and exercises anyway. I had what I called a pain surge when I lowered my leg out of bed and stood up, the blood would rush to my knee and OH the pain! Yes, I took pain meds, but it happened anyway. So glad he did so very well!

So glad to hear you are getting yourself out and about so early even with the pain. I know all about that "pain surge" when lowering the leg out of bed. I had both my knees done about 2 months apart. When I had my 2nd knee surgery I figured since I went through it once and knew what to expect the pain would not be as bad the second time around. Wrong! It actually seemed more painful. So I mentioned it to my Doctor and he said "everybody seems to say the second knee surgery hurts more but nobody knows why". Maybe a mental thing. ;)

It was tough for awhile but my knees feel so good now....no walking pain at all. I am so glad I got them done! Good luck on your continued recovery.

That is great news fancicoffee, I know of two people
who had similar operations and they both got pain,
the results that they had were poor.

Mike.

Good for you, the amount of time it takes to recover from any surgery is all over the map. My wife is the queen of fast hip replacement surgery, I did ok, and a friend of mine took a couple of months. You are right that PT makes all the difference, even if it is painful.
