Don't eat it! It might be something like Coprophilous fungi which grows on animal feces

Wouldn't eat it with a ten foot pole. And please don't eat it, we need you here. I wonder if you bought commercial potting soil? Perhaps organic? That could be the source.

Yes, I checked on this a few months ago...many types of
mushrooms can be grown at home, many ways to grow
them also....I didn't carry thru on it tho.....

Hmm...reminds me of that time scientists found a frog with a mushroom growing out of one of it's body parts...I believe it was his leg or foot. That looks really gross D!
@Nathan...I sure wouldn't eat it. A couple of decades ago, we had a wooden wall holding the railing in our courtyard. I was living here for quite sometime when I noticed mushrooms growing out of the wood. I told the wife of the president of the board so they would remove them. I was afraid one of the children might try to eat them.

The ones of the type Grace sings about can be Google-searched, and images found online. The ones grown in your indoor-plant soil look different, though interesting.
