--i am melting

You must know the song hollydolly: " Mad dogs and Englishmen
go out in the noon day sun"!

Don't do it again.

Do you know that if you have a bottle with a spray nozzle on it,
you can spray yourself with cold water, the finer the spray the
better the effect, you will feel cool, you can stand in front of a
fan if you like to feel cooler.

I used this when I lived on a boat in a marina, this was how I had
a shower every day standing on a towel.

Mike.

Oh yes I knw that song only too well... it was earworming me this last few days while we've been out in the mid-day sun...

I'll do that tomorrow Mike... I have spray bottle, so I'll use that little trick , thanks

Incidentally that must have been a very small boat... :ROFLMAO:

I know Ruth, I am just stupid doing all that work in the sun, . I did have a hat one and Sun lotion and constant chilled water to drink ... but the humidity is soo high too, it just makes you feel ill after a while!! Tomorrow I'm taking a complete day off , and staying indoors with the fans!!
Holly, it might be the only summer you'll ever have there that is this hot, but I wouldn't risk it. Consider checking out the prices on window A/C's when they go on sale to use next year. They don't cost a fortune anymore. Just a thought.

Heck, if I were you, I'd get one for the livingroom tomorrow, and sleep on the couch! Just measure the room to get the right BTUs. You have central A/C in Spain, not window, if I remember right? LOL, or fly back to Spain until Autumn!

Still too hot here in Houston. Very thankful my new a/c system is working well. Its 2 years old and a good friend from Center, Tx. who is in the business came all this way and replaced it for me. I bought this condo in 2000 and knew that I would have to replace a/c and heating unit eventually. I was blessed that they lasted as long as they did before I had to replace them. Will October ever get here???
Terry123, as a fellow Houstonian you need to buy a couple battery operated fans. I learned that the hard way a couple hurricanes back. Truly life savers and cheap. They come with cords so you can always use them like a regular fan.

Thanks, did not know you could buy those!

RR..I do have Central AC in Spain you're right , but it's not possible to go there at the moment, I wish it was... Our summers here in the South are usually warm and pleasant , somewhere around the high 70's low 80's but for the last 3 years we've been getting these really HOT temps.. . I spoke to N about AC last night.. .and he's agreed that we should get something for next summer. Apparently this heat is going to break by Friday!...

It was 102* today and I thought for sure it was closer to 110*, then my grandson told me it was a high humidity day.
That's the trouble Linda, if it's a dry heat we can cope more can't we?, but the humidity levels make it feel so much hotter than it is, then we're sweating like hogs..well maybe that's just me..:p..but you know what I mean!..

It was 112 at daughters' last week.. she can't wait for Septemeber for the temps to start cooling a little bit, but even then it's not unti around December that they get to about 70 during the day and cooler at night..

Holly, I think our weather is a lot like your daughter's, not to mention the landscape. We haven't hit it 112* this week though. I don't see how she can get out and work in that weather. It's all we can do to stay indoors under the A/C. Maybe cause she is so young. Bless her heart.

Oh Holly, I know all about sweating like greased hogs! Thank God, I'm married and not out trying to find a man in this heat. It's not my best look!

yes you're right Linda, you have similar weather to D and we have similar weather to your son!! I hope he gets rain soon too.... :giggle:

AS for D, and working in the high temps..she really has little option as you know..and also both our daughters are the same age , so you know what it's like. DD keeps herself as fit as possible.. she has to, to do that job in the difficult terrain..and horrible heat..but she's so dedicated to those animals. She spends a lot of time keeping them cool..as well as herself..

Well the sun is back out, the rain lasted all of 15 minutes, but at least the temps are more bearable at the moment at 77 deg F..down by about 14 degrees from yesterday

our ac went out saturday---we called the ac man and he came out --he said he couldnt do anything till monday--we called on monday and they said would have to order the part----so i will set here and melt
That’s frustrating. We had that happen a couple of months back on the house we just bought but it was May so not as hot as now. Our unit was 15 years old so we got a new one. Big chunk of money but fast install and our bills are $100 less a month than our old house which was much smaller. It’s hot in the south right now, I feel for you. Good luck getting it fixed fast.

It was in the high 80s yesterday with 94f predicted for today. Then, thankfully, our natural air conditioner (the Pacific Ocean) kicks in and temps will drop back into the 70s f tomorrow.
