I am so proud to be English and live in England....I am so proud to be born of an English mother and Scottish father......I am so proud of the history of England/UK.......I am so proud of the history connected to my home town...........I am so proud we still have a Royal Family.........I have lived in two other countires but England was always home to me..............I am so proud cos I just is.
 

I am proud you are proud, I am proud we are on friendly terms and have good relations. I am proud to be a descendent of both England and Scotland. I would be more proud if I had a warm pair of house shoes this winter and I am less proud I have been talking of getting a pair for the last five years but have not done so.
 
I'm certainly glad that I live here in England, having being born here of English parents/grandparents/ greatgrandparents and much further back, I cannot imagine living anywhere else.I know that some people move away to get warmer weather, but I love all the seasons, not sure that I want blue skies all the time.For a small country we have such different counties, the countryside changes so much.We do have much to be proud of here, and yet English people always feel [unlike the Irish Scots and Welsh] that saying so is a bit ....uncool? Time we flew the flag a bit, if only metaphorically.

Probably.. Saudi Arabia?
Maybe North Korea ?

Well I think in the west we should be very happy we were born here, regardless of our useless governments at times ..there's a whole lot of countries where by sheer accident of birth our lives could be a whole lot worse.. ...a whole lot
 
Yes HollyDolly, there are plenty of hell holes around the world.Which is why so many people want to settle in the West.
I was hoping you would come up with a few 'proud' words though for the list?

Proud as punch... to live in what was (possibly still is) called 'the most working class town in the UK'. It was once the largest iron and steel centre in the world and is now known for building submarines. We also have the beautiful Furness Abbey which was founded in 1123.

English parents although maternal side has Scottish ancestry of which I'm also proud.

I like a lot of the UK/European ideas....especially the political process whereby they can hold a vote of "No Confidence" and replace a questionable Prime Minister. Here, once we get some Yahoo in the Presidency, we seem to be stuck with him for 8 years....and so far, in this 21st Century, we have had a couple of real Doozies...IMO. What would concern me, if I lived in Europe, is the apparent increasing numbers of Muslims. Here, we have our Mexican Invasion, but the stories I read say that Europe is having problems with more and more Middle Easterners coming in. A few weeks ago, I read a piece from some "Imam" who predicted that the UK would have a Muslim majority in its House of Commons by Mid Century. Just yesterday, there was a news report of a bunch of people in Dresden, Germany rising up to protest the Muslim infestation in that city. There have been reports of people in the Netherlands immigrating to other nations because of the increasing Muslim influence in that lovely little nation. This morning, I saw a piece on the news about hundreds of immigrants from Africa being held in Calais, France, while that nation tries to sort out what to do with all those "boat people". I married a German girl when I was stationed in Germany in the 1960's, and she continues to communicate with some of her cousins, etc., and the way some of them talk, Germany isn't the same as we knew it 50 years ago.
 
Proud to be American and a Michigander.
Proud to also be a naturalised British citizen and adopted Scot. The climate sucks but I love Scotland and will never live anywhere else as my permanent home.
Proud to have lived in and fallen in love with Uganda and its people.

Oh and my heritage is Scottish, Irish, Welsh, English and German.
 
I clearly remember a thought that I had when I was about 12 or 13: that I felt fortunate to be American, Caucasian and male.

Little did I realize at the time, that each of these 'lucky' attributes would be negated, and become points of liability.

I'm just proud to be alive [still].

Don, that was just rubbish about MP's having a Muslim majority in The House Of Commons, there are some Muslim Mp's of course but they are part of a political party [the Conservatives or the Labour party]. At the moment we are more concerned about mass immigration from within the EU [entirely legal] but that's the problem with us staying in the EU, as we have no say at all about who comes and stays here.Then there are all the illegal immigrants from all over the world as well.
We already have a very large Muslim population [from Pakistan and India] and I think that you do too in the US.
The world has changed quite a bit in the last 50 years, but Britain [and the US] has a history of hosting and tolerating people from different countries and cultures.
