I am so so disappointed with Vera

I love British murder mysteries and keep my subscription to Britbox current so I can get my fix nightly. So, for two years, two long years, I've been waiting patiently for a new season of Vera. It came and went in a flash, three count them three episodes and that was it.

I know that British TV seasons can be over in a heartbeat, but three episodes? Did I miss something?

We in this household have been devoted fans of Vera, too. Even if often it's been just the lead actors who are the one's whose northern-English accents are the ones we could readily understand, on a first viewing of an episode. Yeah, Vera and the various Morse series (Morse, Lewis & Endeavour)!

Well, I think they did 13 seasons of Vera... that's a long run. Then Brenda Blethyn starred in a comedy series as a crusty, stubborn seaside café proprietor. Forget its title, we watched it for a while. Not nearly as gripping. Don't know whether moving into that was Blethyn's choice (wanting to do something different) or the decision of BBC executives.
