I called myself!

The phone rang. Since I do not answer if it's a number I don't recognize (which is about 95% of my incoming calls), I checked the caller ID. It was my name and number. How is that????

They're illegal scammers Deb, don't pick up! It happened to us a few times over recent years. These scammers might not even be in the USA and they can make your caller ID show any number they want, including your own. https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/getting-calls-your-own-number

That happened to me a year or 2 ago. Although I knew it was scammers doing it, it still made me feel so funny to see my number and name calling myself. That's when I blocked my own number from calling me again.

They'll do that on your emails, too. I have received several emails from "myself".....amazing.

That has happened to me a few times. The first time it scared me. I did not answer. I went on the internet and found out it was a scam. Now I just let it ring.
