I can almost hear the Banjos

My relatives were great picture takers, thank God, and this one was taken at Plymouth Reservoir, a small lake in the middle of some woods and was owned by some distant relatives of mind. I would say it dates back in the early 1900's. Everytime I see this photo, the tune from Deliverence runs through my head. :sentimental::sentimental:

I LOVE that picture! What a wonderful piece of history!

That was the Era of the Carter family; how neat if you had some musicians tucked in there:D

I think all the pictures from Back Then looked like they were straight out of Deliverance - lol

Great photo! Looks like it was taken on a Sunday, everybody's dressed up.

The only one I remember, when I was very young, is Uncle Joe, farest on the right sitting. The place was called The Shanty where many went for hunting and fishing. I use to go there as a teenager but front porch was gone by then. Looks like it is ready to collapse at any minute.

Nice picture, Pappy!! I wondered about that porch corner propped up on a stack of rocks....:) So nice to look at old pics and remember people and things from back then. Unfortunately my family wasn't much into pictures, but don't think they always had a camera, either. I remember my uncle having an old Brownie camera when I was little. Most of the pictures we have now are from weddings, etc.

Love the pictures Phil and That Guy. All hell, might just as well show you a picture of my Grandma. We joke about how Grandma is a Rebel. I believe this would have been taken about the time Bonnie and Clyde were running wild. . Hmmmm the more I look at her??? Naw.

I've unfortunately lost all the family pictures through both natural and unnatural disasters but I specifically remember several of the photos, such as my older brother in his baby carriage - "The Black Mariah" - the thing looked like an armored tank.

Then of course the various shots of siblings together looking so much like a Little Rascals publicity clip.

Good memories - I just wish I had the pics to give to my sons.
