Most times I'm number three on the list;

'Grin: Silent, controllable, but uses more facial muscles (e.g., eyes begin to narrow);'

I'm usually in the #3 to #4 category.

4. Snicker: First emergence of sound with facial muscles, but still controllable

But if something is really funny I can get up to #8 (but without any barking or snorting).

I'm more in the #4 to #6 Range.

I very seldom accelerate past #8. I never use LOL, because it would be a lie!
