I could not find my car today

In a very busy large parking lot, I write down where I park.
When going to Publix (local supermarket) I always park in pretty much the same spot, if not always in the same aisle.
One time, at Walmart, I did jump into a car that was not mine. (Same model car, same colour) The passenger seat was very messy covered with stuff that alerted me, the car was not mine! I quickly got out! Fortunately, no one noticed me!
 

Your key fob may have an alarm/panic function, press that and it will sound your horn until pressed again.

I've learned to take a picture of my cars location and any signs indicating parking area or level.

But yeah, it sucks losing your car.
 
I can "relate" to this. Years ago, we flew to Las Vegas, and I parked in the big 4 level parking garage at the KC airport. and thought I'd parked on level 2. When we returned, we wandered all over that level, and couldn't find the car....even the key fob "beeper" didn't sound. Finally we went to level 3, and I was able to get a "beep". After that, I always make a note on the parking ticket with the level/lane, so we don't have to wander all over with the luggage.
 
It really amazes me when a huge, busy parking lot doesn’t have row markers. Our airport didn’t have markers for every row so you just knew you were in the general vicinity. It was an extreme challenge when you returned after a major snowfall.

I try to remember where I approached a store. In big car parks, I take a photo. Same for my hotel room.

me too... I've written about it here before..but short version is.. that I was in a strange town.. parked in the multi storey car park, knew the multi storey was going to close at 6pm, got back 15 minutes before, ..car park was empty... including my car... gone !

I raced literally , running downstairs to every level, but no it was gone..

I dashed outside... only to discover there was an identical multi storey car park right next door.... and my car was in there..'phew'' the relief!

Me three. I memorize the landmarks, car row and how it all aligns to the store's exterior. There's always an indicator of gaging where you are if you're careful.

I realised today my car does not go Beep - Beep when the key fob is pressed. Only the small lights flash once.
Finally found it after 16 minutes walking up and down the rows of cars. :)

That was 16 minutes of unplanned walking exercise. Looking at the bright side It was worth the walk.

But, the Walmart parking lot is big enough to lose yer car

So

I park on the lane that lines up with the door

I also park in the forward space so I can drive forward (not have to back out)

Sure, it may be a block or two walk, but know I'll eventually get there

When I saw the first photo I thought, that has to be West Thurrock, the lake confirms it.

Just this week i was in a Walmart parking lot trying my darndest to get into a car that looked just like mine.
