I didn't get away with it..

I didn't want to go to school one day so I claimed to be sick. My mom stuck the thermometer in my mouth and left the room. I promptly held it to the lightbulb of the lamp on my nightstand. For some reason, my mother didn't believe I had a 110 degree fever. I was on my way to school shortly afterward.

A friend and I were playing truant, skipped school and went back to her home after her parents had left for work, the doorbell rang, we froze, standing quiet as mice in the kitchen when the Truant Officer called out, “You may as well open the door, I can see your legs through the letterbox”, .......busted !

I did almost the same thing jujube. Only I went to the school nurse and held the thermometer next to the hot radiator. Got sent home with a note to my mom. It wasn’t pleasant....
