I don't know what to eat or buy at the grocery anymore

Seems like I've had just about everything I consider eating recently. It's boring to keep eating the same things over an over. Everything at the store looks boring.
The woes of a fussy eater. I rotate apples, grapes and bananas for breakfast with cold cereal, oatmeal, toast or cornbread, then spice that up with yogurt twice a week. Tea for every beverage supplemented with occasion fruit juice and flavored seltzers. Most lunches - some casserole concocted with pasta combined with some kind of meat and veggie. Dinner ends up being whatever I grab out if the fridge or see on the kitchen counter.

During the Covid 19 pandemic I ate the most exciting food and created several new recipes because there was so much hoarding going on I couldn't find my normal go tos. I made radish garlic and potato soup cuz everything else was gone from the store. It's so delicious I still make it. The cream makes it. Try something totally new Deb. Your tastebuds deserve it.

What I like:

chicken
cereals
Brussels sprouts
broccoli
apples, grapes
pasta
toast
nuts (except pistachios)
ice cream
raised or filled donuts

What I don't like:

organ or red meats
milk
seafood
any vegetable that requires involved preparation
citrus fruits
bacon
mayonnaise

Deb,

It sounds like the problem is that you know exactly what to buy.

I would concentrate all of my efforts on the donuts!

Maybe try one or two fresh ideas each week and stick with the old familiar comfort foods the rest of the week.

I would probably make a casserole of chicken, stuffing mix, and bottled gravy with a simple vegetable, and canned cranberry sauce on the side. 🐷🐷🐷

A can of soup, some ramen, and the like.
Nothing wrong with a can of soup.

Do you have any dietary restrictions? Do you have love, like, will not eat soups?
Add a small grilled cheese to the soup. Mayo is easier than butter to get an even and fast brown and you cannot taste it. Let butter sit a bit so it spreads.. Non stick pan. Add a slice of ham, a slice or two of any kind of sausage.
Add some vegetables to the soup. All peas need is to be heated with the soup. Add corn. Add sliced and steamed (mircro) brussel sprouts.Buy the half cans of corn even if they are a nickel more - less waste.
Add a cucumber or tomatoe sandwich to the soup.
Add a dollop of sour cream of Greek yoghurt to the soup.
A sprinkle of cheese, a few home made croutons.

We are playing Debboun Roulette again:>)

Broccoli, apple slaw with pan fried chicken.
Start with a bag of shredded broccoli, thinly slice an apple, add some halved grapes, dressing you like. I would use a simple vinagrette with a bit of mustard. Let it sit in the fridge for an hour or two. Salt/pepper a chicken breast, pan fry in butter on medium to low. Deglaze pan with a bit of stock (a few crumbs of buillion cube and water will do). Close the lid and let it sit for five minutes.
Set the table.
Use the rest of the broccoli for a quick stir fry with onions and sausage.

I just sent my shopping list out and I ordered lump crab, frsh made crabcakes, salmon, haddock, chicken, veggies, Mexican enchalaidas, and lots of other good stuff. I grew up eating these kinds of things. I will try anything once with the exception of sushi just to see what its like.

Open your mind and your mouth, eat something different!!
