I downloaded a bird identification app and it crashed my laptop

Huh, most I seem to get for tech support is a meal out of the deal or a thank you.

I mostly just got a thank you, but after a while I got tired of of being taken advantage of.

The easiest and most economical thing to do is always save your data on a separate device, and then just reload/restore windows when something goes wrong.

If you have an Android phone there is an app called BirdNET excellent for identifying birds by sound.
I use it on my phone, record the bird as it is singing and then the app will identify it. 80% of the time I would say it is correct.

No smart phone. I only use a laptop for internet.
