Fortunate that you didn't fall on the hip needing the operation .. but, not so good that you fell! I hope you're recovering well.
((HUGS))
so sorry about all the difficulties. take care.@JonSR77 My button has a GPS installed, so I can use it out side as well. I plan to wear it this summer when I plan to be walking outside more. I have to charge it, but I get a text alert on my phone if charge is running low.
An interesting thing happened once. I was going to bed, and went to put the button on my night stand. I missed the mark, and it fell off the stand. A "fall alert" came over the speaker, and a operator checked in to assure I was OK
So sorry to hear about your tumble, @Marie5656Late last night I was up wandering around. Stepped wrong and took a tumble. I bumped up against a small table by my chair and wend down lie a sack of taters. And, once down, it is for the count, until I get help.
So, I scootched the couple feet to my phone, and called 911. It was 4AM ish. Down in the outer lobby there is a locked access box that First responders can access to get a master key. So, I waited about 10-15 minutes and rescue came. Because of my bad knees and shoulders, they could not just reach under my arms and lift.
So, they used their trusty rescue mat, strapped me in and lifted me u,p and into my chair. They took vitals, as per protocol, and stayed a few minutes to assure I was OK. One of the guys was even nice enough to go into my freezer to get my ice pack for me. Then off they went.
I have a nice big bruise. Very colorful. Hurts some, but I think I fill feel better over time, while it heals. No doctor visit, as nothing seems brokenSo sorry to hear about your tumble, @Marie5656
Glad you were able to call for help.
How are you feeling, did you have to go to the doctor.
Hope you didn't break anything.
This type of thing happening when you live alone is very scary.
Take care, Marie.
Oh, I do too. But in this case, I did have a light on. Just clutzy. I feel it is healing, as it is very itchy. I am trying not to scratch it.So sorry you experienced that @Marie5656! It is good you had the quick response by the emergency techs and everything is healing. I added night lights that plug into the wall and light up when the power is off. They keep a nice glow at night and this has helped me see better at night. I don't know if this is helpful to you, but thought I'd share it with you. Good luck!
