I Find the Ignore Button a Wonderful Feature of this Whole Forum

I use it from time to time mostly because I'm the sort of person that can't walk by an open bag of chips without having a few. I'm being honest, some things I will read, even though I know I shouldn't. Mostly use it to block a subject more than the person. A few are on permanent ignore because they have made statements that are too far from reality, that I simply don't have enough days left to even entertain their ramblings.

Well, I just put one person on ignore today. Update: make that two more....but I suspect those "two" are the same person. Someone apparently got a "sock puppet" for an early Christmas present.

It really takes some effort to get me to put someone on ignore. Someone may annoy me, but I'm just too nosy to pass up seeing what's going around, y'know?

Probably I’ve already posted on this thread.

Otherwise, I just side step and ignore any person I might find to be worthy of ignoring.

I have no members on ignore.

Same goes for any messages I receive that are
Focused on gossiping about other members.

I chose to not reply, and therefore ignore the message.

it works for me just fine.

By ignoring any member I think it also prevents them from P .M ing you as well

Im really glad we have the ignore button, the feature also stops any threads started by ignored member(s) showing up. (y)(y)

When I first joined here I was flooded with unwanted messages based purely on gossiping about other members :eek:

I joined in 2014 …. I think without checking

I love this post!!!! ⬆️⬆️⬆️

While I rarely put people on ignore (there are none at the moment), I deliberately side-step some people's posts. I might read some, but avoid responding, mostly for the bag of chips reason.

It's a fairly simple matter to "unwatch" more egregious threads by noticing titles and originators. Sifting out threads inhabited by the most dogged of conspiracy theorists and provocateurs can be a fairly simple matter because the intentions of the OPs are usually telegraphed by the titles.

what is the "ignore button"... where is it... how does it work? if i have to ask 3 questions and wait until someone responds and educates me on the topic... i could just IGNORE, couldn't i?!

Hover over someone's avatar, underneath their picture will be the ingnore button..just one click is all it takes....

When you click on a members name you get 3 options. There is a follow button , an ignore button and start conversation button. If you click ignore then you won’t see any of the info from that member , unless someone copy pastes what they’ve said.
You’re welcome.

I never put anyone on Ignore because, as they say "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer". I want to know where everyone's head is at in this forum. ;)
I would not call them 'enemies'. They are members who disagree with my opinion, which is no problem at all, since it is a discussion forum. But if I'd notice personal attacks or the discussion with another member is rotating on the same topic on and on with the same old arguments and counter-arguments, it is possible that I use the ignore button. But an enemy? No.
