I forgot my pillows!

I ALWAYS bring my pillows when we take road trips because I have trouble sleeping otherwise. The unfamiliar beds
don’t bother me much at all unless they’re rock hard!! But I struggle a lot to find any comfort with an unfamiliar pillow.

Before Covid we took lots of mini road trip getaways and one of us would
always grab my pillows, but we’re out of practice I guess! I’ve tossed and turned for two night now because I just couldn’t get the pillows right. 😖

Any of you have a similar problem when you don’t have your pillows?

I am the other way. I have to have a firm bed. A slab would be fine, but hotels don't have that. One of the big chains, I forget which one, uses Sleep Number beds. I crank that baby all the way. I also use three pillows.

Yep. Stop by a ... some kind of store and buy some pillows. Costco?
We’ll be at Ron’s sister’s house in a couple hours. I’ve never met her though we’re corresponded a lot through email and messages, and on the phone. Ron assures me that she’s a wonderful hostess with several spare/guest rooms each with pillows on the beds and that he’s fairly certain I’ll find one or two to my liking!!

I've already searched Maps for a store close to where she lives. That’s my contingency plan!! Great minds, @Devi

Ronni, Arn't you on your Honeymoon? What are you doing sleeping on your Honeymoon?
😉😇

pillows? I don't even use a pillow anymore.
If you need several pillows, doesn't that indicate heart problems?

I don’t have heart problems...no health problems at all so far!

I have one relatively firm pillow I sleep with and the second is a feather pillow I squish into all kinds of weird shapes to support my neck or head if I’m reading or watching TV or on my phone. I throw it to the foot of the bed when I’m ready to sleep.

I thought everyone used pillows. You even see people carrying theirs through the airport.

The only suggestion I’ve ever read about no pillows is prevent wrinkles. Oops, you said several pillows.

Best Western has two soft & two firm pillows on every bed.

I remember when I took my late husband to a heart doctor. . The first question the doctor asked him was how many pillows does he need to sleep? I've even known several people who couldn't sleep in a bed because of heart problems. They had to sleep in a recliner chair.
Maybe I'm wrong. Hope I am.

Forgetting my pillows would be a disaster for me. I had a note by the door to remember to bring them on our recent trip since it would be the last thing I would pack. I also have a little "knee" pillow . It keeps my boney knees from clanking together.

My husband has a hiatal hernia. If his pillow is not at the right level, he's more likely to aspirate the stuff that comes up through the leaky valve.

I was in and out of hospitals, a lot, in 2018. And they all had the lousiest pillows in the world. They'd bring me this limp, sagging thing that's been through 8 million washes. How in the hell am I supposed to get a good night's sleep with that thing. If they gave me another pillow to go with the first, they both were only an inch high. It wasn't till I got back home in my warm, happy bed with decent pillows that I got a good rest.
