A very warm welcome Ellie, and how lucky that you found this one first! Some of them could have scarred you for life!
You'll get the hang of it in no time, we all started out somewhere and most of us were lucky enough to find kind and gentle people or I guess we wouldn't still enjoy the comfort and company that forums can offer.
View it as a group of people having a chat on neutral ground, and expect to find the same ratio of views, personalities and opinions that you'd find anywhere and it'll be a breeze. We have more laughs than many, keep our arguments polite, or tongue in cheek, and all in all are having a pretty good time. Hope you do too.
Welcome, ellie!! Just take your time and look around; you'll be fine here with us. I am not good with computers, but just plug along and so far, so good.
As a novice there are somethings you need to know.
When your computer conspires against you, you have a couple of options.
One, you can give it a good thrashing and turn it off. After 24 hours in the sin bin it will recognise you as its mistress and behave better, at least for a while.
Two, get on the forum and describe your problem and 99% of the time you will find help.
Elle i take my hat off to you for starting out at 89yrs old good for you, i hope you have some fun and if you run into strife we will help you or Matrix will.
A warm welcome to you Ellie. You were lucky to find this board so quickly, it took me years. There are such nice and interesting people here, you'll be so happy to be a part of it. Jump right in and make yourself at home.
I was going to reply to each of you individually & my daughter told me you could all read this if i put it at the bottom plus at the rate I was typing it would take me until I was 100 to get them all written...I can't believe I used to type for a living but that was 50 pr more years ago...I am also working on a typing tutor & hoping it will all come back to me soon...Thank you everyone for responding, I really enjoyed reading all of your replies!!! Ellie
