I have an '05 Ford Explorer. Got it 18 months ago. Before that I drove a 1975 Cordoba Chrysler until a couple
of months before the "NEW" Ford. That was 35 years in one car. So, understanding this new fangled vehicle is a b#~*¿. We couldn't afford to take it into a Ford dealership. So we research as much as possible. Young Michael and his father were convinced that they could fix it themselves . They bought $1500.00 worth of auto parts.
Then Young Michael died February 15 th.
We have been hindered from being able to get around. It could only be for short distances.
Our 26 year old grandson,(Seth, whom we have seen very little of since he became a teenager), showed up with two men that work for him a Home Depot. Seth has been the store manager for the last five years. So I'm asking myself, how's this going to help.
Turns out Seth grew up with them, and they all spent time in the two men's father's auto shop. When the economy took out so many small businesses,(our' s among them),their shop went down, and Seth hired his two friends.
The three young men,came out to our home and spent half a day to fix it the problem. Turns out the Explorer had gotten air in the cooling system. The boys bled out the air. The boys wouldn't take any money, so I made them a steak lunch, with mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and peas, with a cherry cobbler to finish.
Even better, we can now take the auto parts back, and get that $1500.00 back. :cheers1:
