I had to buy a new Fitbit cause the bracelet died. Who counts steps?

I had a very simple old fitbit which suited me. The bracelet wore out and I couldn’t locate a new bracelet. Bought a fitbit inspire hr since they didn’t have a Fitbit 2. Cost 100, ugh. It’s got the date which is great since I never can remember it.

Has a lot of features the other didn’t, and I managed to delete the old one and set this one up on my phone. So I get a beep cause it does notifications, it says I completed my exercise routine and good for me. Except I didn’t exercise. It tracks your exercise by your heart rate.

I’ve been having a few heart issues the last couple days. I had a sustained heart rate of 120 so the Fitbit read that as exercise. Lol. I see the doc tomorrow, but how funny. I track my sleep for the doc. This one breaks it down into how much light, deep, and rem sleep you get-nice.

Anyone else tracks their steps and other stuff?

Yes I (we do) hubby and I have a Garmin sports watch ,we walk at least 5 km a day (around 10.500 steps ) when not going out dancing
On the 23/4 I did a morning and afternoon walk my Garmin said it was 8.1 km in total for the day
I was told I had diabetes about 12 years ago and the thought of it frightened me ,so i set about loosing weight
Which I did I lost 26 kg over the 12 years I’ve gained back 6kg and have had several tests for diabetes and all come back non diabetic so I’m pleased with myself and will keep, walking

I used to use an Omron pedometer that tracked steps, calories, mileage, etc. Now, I'm not so interested in steps, they made tracking mileage very iffy. It seemed that variance of step length in separate walks affected the mileage recorded. Now I'm only interested in measuring my walks or hikes in mileage, so the free GPS app on my new (first) smartphone, is giving me all I need including a satellite map of my path walked. It does have other features like steps, etc., but I never used them.

Kadee, congratulations on your weight loss, even if you gained some back. Important think is your test for diabetes are negative. I will always walk as long as I can, I also have to be wary of developing diabetes like my mother (RIP) and sister.

I have tracked my steps for several years now. I started out with a little clip-on tracker called a Fitbug, and it actually worked very well, and even tracked sleep if I wanted, although I didn’t do that.
The problem with the Fitbug was the battery had to be replaced every few months, and I had to have help because i could not get it apart to replace the battery myself.

I found an older version of a Jawbone UP, and it was a little bracelet tracker, and all I had to to was charge it with USB, so it worked fine, and I liked it.
It also tracked my sleep, and this time I did use that function .

Then, my daughter got a new Apple Watch, and she gave me her Series 2 watch, over my objections that it was too small for me to even see to use.
However, in short order, I fell in love with that Apple Watch and now I do not know how I managed without it. Besides being a fitness and sleep tracker, I wear it swimming, and it tracks laps and calories burned while swimming, too.

It is also a health monitor, and constantly checks my heartbeat, and lets me know if I get into an erratic rhythm, or when my heartbeat is too slow or too fast. It senses if I should fall, and if I do not respond, it will call 911, as well as my emergency contacts, and will find me with the GPS.

Since the Apple Watch is also a phone, I no longer miss important calls because it is always right there on my wrist, and my actual phone pretty much stays in my purse.
I get weather alerts, and even eBay alerts when I am bidding on something and it is about to end, and there are a lot more things that the watch would tell me if I set it up to do that.
It is probably the best fitness tracker available, and it does so much more, that it is totally worth the cost , at least for someone like me who likes to keep monitoring their health as well as their activity.

Yes, I do. I have a Garmin which is waterproof and keeps track of my heartrate and steps. And I can see the time without looking at my phone LOL!
It also tracks my sleep. I like it a lot. I find I sleep better if I get in 8,000 to 10,000 steps. If I'm over 11,000 then I am overtired and don't sleep as well. Strange, but true. I walk every day. On days when we go to the supermarket, I'm up to 8,000 in no time!

We must have a very similar one Carol mine is the Garmin sports it also tracks sleep / heart rate / stress
I was having trouble getting it to record any of the dancing steps we do while dancing, we worked out because it’s Ballroom dancing our feet glide most of the time , so I set it on cycling as an experiment and it recorded 6.000 steps at the dance last night that was for 20 different dances each are danced twice ,the heart rate was noticeable on the graph for when we did the faster dances like quick steps
