I had two encounters with fire yesterday

At work, cutting 120mm steel plate, a lot of sparks are produced and these normally go down into the water bed.
10 months after having the bed renewed, there is a lot of molten metal build up. As the job piece was being cut, the sparks were hitting the dross and flying out of the side of the plate. The sparks were hitting the cutting section of the machine and the plastic concertinaed covering caught fire. I quickly grab the nearby extinguisher and doused the flame.
Minor damage, machine down for about half and hour to affect repairs.

Last night my power went off, when I went out to investigate, the upstairs neighbours electrical box had caught fire. There were already firemen there. They had turned all power off as a precaution.
My power was restored within 20 minutes.

This is not your week, is it?

Your story brought back a very old memory for me. I had a class where we were learning arc welding, and were supposed to run a bead down a piece of steel. When I was done, I looked at the bead and saw there were several gaps in it.
I could nor figure what I had done wrong until I got home that night. While taking my socks off, I noticed a number of burnt holes in them. I was concentrating so hard on running the bead, that I involuntarily must have jumped each time a spark burned through.
