I hate these gloomy mornings

Grampa Don

Yep, that's me
Here's the LA basin right now. I'm out there under it somewhere.

I love Spring time but May and June here mean many mornings like this. We call it May grey and June gloom. Usually it burns off by noon, but not always. I like getting up to bright sunshine.

There, now I feel better.

I have a different viewpoint. When I used to take the yearly summer trip to San Diego to escape the heat I loved the gloomy and cloudy mornings in San Diego. It was nice to actually have to wear a jacket in the mornings. But I know I would feel the same way as you if I lived there.

And taking trips to Disneyland was always an adventure because we would have to wear jackets in the morning, store them in a locker once the sun broke out because it got hot, and then get out the jackets again once again after sunset.

Go up into the mountains every evening to wake up to sunny. ... :ROFLMAO: ...
I remember being in the hills, 1969 and watching the smog roll up the valley from the sea.
In about 10 minutes most of the houses turned brown colors. Eye watering, nose burning.
Beat it from LA area to Sacramento that day. Went on out to the Big Sur and watched the
Nautilus SSN571 heading up toward Alaska. Sign warning to not go in the Water due to undertow.
Walked amongst the big rock. Brother got stung in the finger & it swelled up big.

In Ohio the skies are a full gray almost all Winter. We had a day like that today too. I don't like it one bit and my SAD kicks up too. I don't feel like doing anything but getting under the covers. I hope you'll have a sunnier day soon ❤️

I hope you do too.

I know I shouldn't complain. The grey mornings are mostly for only a couple months here and are a lot more common in some places.

Did the dreary gloominess burn off and give you some sunshine today, Don?
Yes, I'm getting some Sun now just as it's getting ready to go down. It does that just to tease me.

According to the weather forecast, the rest of the week looks pretty good, AM clouds but Sunny afternoons. I know that folks who live where the weather is cloudy a lot think I'm spoiled and I'm afraid they are right. But this is the only climate I have ever known.

As John Denver wrote: Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy.
