I hate trying to “push down and turn” !

That's the kind that gets to me also. Squeezing while pushing down and turning is more than I can manage sometimes.
Maybe this could work for anything but liquids. May sound crazy but you never know until you try.

Place a cloth on the worksurface (to avoid scratching it), turn the bottle upside down grip the cap at the point where you squeeze it with one of these

Put your weight on the bottle and turn the tool.

It is a liquid content I'm talking about. :(

Caps are OK for me, any
I just hate the little necked bottles
(I find it hard to just get one pill out)

So, I get the straight/brown see thru bottles

I too do not care for child proof/adult resistant caps; I have no small children or grandchildren who could possibly get access to medicines, antifreeze Etc. Etc.... all are properly trained and well grown.
Disabling some is easy just trim off a little nub. others need repackaging into standard screw top containers, or substitution of caps from standard screw to containers.
I keep standard replacement caps and a few small containers in a drawer of the vanity. When a standard cap bottle (i.e. vitamins) is empty I evaluated the size and either toss it or its cap in the drawer.
When a bottle top aggravates me I normally get the cap off the first time and toss it in to the trash while substituting a standard cap from the drawer.
When substituting containers always label the new one appropriately. in large letters (magic marker).

Enjoy!

The prescription bottle caps as I posted can be turned upside down & screwed into the bottle. If for any crazy reason the cap won't turn normally pinch the lip of the cap on the lip & it will come out easily.

As for other caps if I'm not available to help my wife she has this tool to open caps.
