I Have a Craving for Yorkshire Pudding

My mom could whip up one without even looking at a recipe. I looked at photos shown online, but they look more like what Americans call popovers. My mom made it in a 9 x 12 baking dish, all one piece. The recipes online call for ingredients I'd have to go out and purchase, then what I didn't use would be sitting around and getting rancid. I looked for restaurants or store that might sell, but the nearest is about 200 miles away. The WalMarts around here don't even carry the mix.

I just had 4 for dinner....along with Broccoli, and roast potatoes...and beef gravy

Why don't you make your own from scratch, they're very easy to make..also you can make a whole batch and freeze them,.they freeze well raw or cooked..
Yes, easy to make. Get oven really hot and watch them rise. Delicious with roast beef and roast potatoes.

I Have a Craving for Yorkshire Pudding

Have you thought about a holiday in Yorkshire, Deb, they have tons of the stuff there? 😊

First time in the UK I ordered some, quite disappointed - I was expecting desert...

Actually it wasn't bad, but the next time I had it as the main course.
Back in the day , especially in the North of England ( Yorkshire) where poverty was at it's worst... Parents would cook the yorkshire pudding and add gravy.. and feed it to the kids for dinner to fill them up.. so that for their main course they just had a very small amount of meat and veg.... also Yorkshire pudding was very often served with Jam ( jelly).. as a Dessert..
