I just moved. I didn't think it would be so exhausting.

It's exhausting I suppose. Just moved (again) not a month ago. Except for some help from my brother with the heaviest items, Fridge, stove, washer, wife and I moved it all ourselves. Of course for us, it was not a big deal. After all, we had just moved into the other fixer house 2 years ago. (ended up a sinkhole). The most annoying thing was the price of gas as I hauled everything myself by making many trips (at least 25) and the fact it was about the hottest, most humid time of year. At least the new house was more or less finished, so there isn't much for me to do...
Paint inside and out, (not finished that yet), replace the kitchen sink, switch out some appliances, build a raised garden spot, clean up about 10 years of leaves (good for compost), change all the outside doors, (needed doggie doors), and probably a dozen more things if I think about it. :)

Three years ago, we moved from our mountain cabin to town (50 mi away)
Yes
It IS exhausting
I was 71 at the time
But, we were in shape due to living in the mountains for six years (chopping wood for heat)

We rested in between the big pieces of furniture
But
The boxes of books......WHOA!
Boxes of books are heavy

We could do it again...but.....really really don't want to
ever
I'm like you. I could do it again but I don't want to... unless the doors were opened for us to move someplace tropical. I bought a one dollar lottery ticket today. I'm a big dreamer.

Moving has been my failed goal for many years now. Looking for a place I like and afford is a part-time job
and leads are not worth the paper written on, literally. Not even a post it note.
Anyway, I am not downsizing. I am UPsizing, buying more stuff! Bigger place. I'd have to hire a mover
for everything. My current place is not bad but not so nice either.
