I learned something yesterday

I had abnormally low blood pressure. On a health forum someone posted I should get some salt. I ate about 8 salted potato chips an my BP returned to normal. I could not believe how quickly it happened.

That's something you and I have in common Jim...I have low BP too... I don't take anything for it, because it doesn't cause me any problems except if I lean right over ( say for example to tie my shoes while standing up).. then I get dizzy and a blinding headache!!

I can get this also. My heart rate is very low ... below 60 bpm and I don’t ever add salt to my food

When I had a hair analysis done years ago I was told that I had the lowest measurement of salt in my body that this naturopath doctor had ever seen so I occasionally have sea salt now. Both parents have high blood pressure so I’m the complete opposite

I have low BP and have had it for years. What concerns my doctor more is my low heart rate, which 40-45 is about normal for me. I actually failed an FAA mandatory yearly physical and had my license suspended for almost 3 weeks.

I had to go to a cardiologist and had a bunch of tests done and they came to the conclusion that I over-exercised. So, I cut back on my running, swimming and biking. My wife still swims and bikes, but she has no issues.

My BP is now like 150/65, which the cardiologist says is good. The 120/80 is a guide, but not a must have to be healthy. My heart rate is around 45-50.
