I left a Facebook Group

I went to post an item for sale on Adirondack Antiques a few weeks ago and I was never notified that it had been accepted. When I checked on it, it was still "pending", then I noticed there hasn't been any activity since August 2021. I sent PMs to the 2 group administrators and they never replied. I assumed then it was an inactive group, so I deleted my membership.

There's a lot of 'dead' Facebook group's that sound interesting, but for some reason don't attract a lot of attention.

They can't be reported just for being inactive. They have to be spamming or promoting violence, etc.

Sometimes I check the thrifting sub on Reddit. I see people posting items they got from Facebook ads with some frequency. I've never looked at them. But I guess people sell and buy from there. Even freebies.

I'm debating on either leaving or snoozing one group. It's a free site, buy nothing. But some requests (I just bought someone $15 in gas tonight and pumped it in) are seemingly excessive.

Pots, pans, cool oh "I'd like this KitchenAid mixer"...that's like $400!!!

Or there's "My family is hungry, we want hot food" you can look back and see they do it about once a month. Yes, they get snap/tanf yet.......

Then recently someone wanted a pickup truck set up, new it was $1,500 they're hoping an "Angel" would buy one used.

I wish people had the humbleness I saw tonight from someone who didn't want the cash, just gas and thanked me for it. Something they sincerely need, this isn't a "Wish List" group.
