I like fast food.

It's easy to bash fast food places. But I love McDonald's fries, and a Whopper. Most of the burger joints make an edible product. And let's face it, when you want a quick good meal, nobody is searching for a low calorie kelp salad place. How about you? Do you secretly like fast food?

They keep saying this stuff is full of salt and other junk, but I'm 79 and still living okay.
I like Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Kentucky Fried Chicken, but all of these are about 30 miles away from me.

Others like Chick-fil-A, Arby's are even further away.

Just because I do not eat it now doesn't mean I didn't love it. I did. Especially the whopper with fries! Now I cannot see spending that amount of money on it when I can make the same thing at home for a lot less. Maybe if they were within walking distance I would get it every now and then but they aren't.

On a very rare occasion I'll stop at BK and get two of the regular-sized Rodeo Cheeseburgers and usually ask for pickles on them. Maybe some fries, but not often.

I rarely eat it now. But does it taste good? Hell yes. They've got it down!!!!! Burger King is the food of Gods.

When I was in my early twenties I helped a friend and his dad at their sawmill, every Sat. we went to Wendy's for lunch. I loved it, double burger with the works, fries and mayo, then a Frosty to finish it up. If I ate that today I would be sick for a week, my body would think I was poisioned.

I think most of us do indeed enjoy eating fast foods. More at issue for the sake of health, is not making that a frequent habit. Likewise I love to eat pizza, greasy salty potato chips, barbecued red meat, and more... very occasionally. And most often do so when on multi-day road trips for convenience.

About twice a year I'll go to McDonalds for a Big Mac Meal Deal. Their fires are the best and I really enjoy eating the Big Mac but usually about an hour later, I regret having eaten it. It's weird how that works. Never been a fan of Burger King food for some reason. I'll have KFC maybe once every year or two. I'm more of a Pizza person when it comes to fast food. We have lots of privately owned Mom & Pop Pizza places close by and most are really good.

Fast food used to be not only quick & convenient but a cheap alternative as well - not any more though. Prices are pretty high for junk food these days.

Hey -cut that out. I was sitting here having healthy thoughts and now I'm ready for a quick trip to BK ! - - - - and - - - I was there yesterday for a Jr. Whopper, fries. and some chicken nuggets.
Having just reached 90, I must get back to healthy eating to try and extend my years !

When much younger and thinking of fast food, my only notion was ... FOOD Git In !!!
Even now I don't consider the health aspect because I so seldom eat fast food.
What usually stops me is the mental picture of current employees, their work ethics and regard for customers.
Thing is, they may be no different than fast food employees of my youth. Maybe only my appetite has changed.

Actual picture of our local Wendy's kitchen here on Rucker Blvd ... would you like fries with that?

Everyone knocks fast food but that is a large generalization. From the National chains to independent small stores. You may find. unsavory conditions anywhere at all. Same with high salt and fatty foods in restaurants. I would rather have a McDonald's burger than spend 15. elsewhere. Plus tip and a drink. My favorite is arbys but none are near me. Fast food very popular across the globe everywhere

Oh, this thread is sooo GROSS!
Especially the visual in post #15. That ought to make everyone drive-on-by the grossness.

For me Never!....with one exception:
I recently tried Chick-fil-A. They use Farm to Table Chicken.
The non-greasy Fried Chicken pieces and Iced Tea I ordered were very good. Good prices too.

Chick-fil-A sources 100% real, whole, boneless breast of chicken that has never been ground or separated, and that contains no fillers or added steroids or hormones*. Our chicken is raised in barns (not cages), on farms in the United States, in accordance with our Animal Wellbeing Standards, and with No Antibiotics Ever (since May 2019).

When we lived in AZ, we would occasionally stop for a burger if we were running errands, etc.. We loved Culver's burgers (I believe they're a CA based franchise) and In-N-Out Burger. We use to get burgers at Five Guys but they got too expensive for us. Also, when we lived in TX, my late hubby loved Whataburger.

I love McDonalds. I can tell when someone else has eaten it. The smell is on their clothes. I limit it to a double cheeseburger now and then or once in a while an egg McMuffin before work. But have you ever noticed that fast food is not filling? I can suck down a double cheeseburger in a minute and want another. Or two. But if I eat a burger at home, I am satisfied. It is that salt/fat/sugar combo that keeps us addicted and wanting more..

Well I like a good sandwich once in a while if I can find one (like Culver’s). I love fries but generally avoid them like poison, especially McDonalds with their chemicals and reheated hydrogenated oil, all of which cause fat weight gain and inflammation. But I will have fries at Outback once a year with my steak on Valentines Day which is then followed by the annual swing dance to work it off.
