Gum Trees have started shedding their bark covering.
A process called decorticating.
In particular at this time of year, Lemon Scented Gum Trees - Corymbia citriodora, are putting on a display of this shedding.
The bark being shed is less than half a millimetre thick.
Love the smell of lemon scented gums after a rain @Bretrick , there Is a very long road in the northern suburb of Adelaide ~ called Elizabeth …..one of the main roads in that area , has a lawned area down the middle of the road where L.S gums are growing …it’s called ….Phillip Highway ( Elizabeth )
