I love College Basketball

Still love 50's & 60's music!
I haven't followed the NBA in decades. No interest at all. But I have always loved College Basketball. Living in New York City for 15 years, I became a Big East fan. Mainly because St. John's is an original member of the Big East. I lived in Syracuse also, which is where I grew to hate Syracuse basketball.

Now their #12 in the country (20-3, 11-1 in the Big East). Last night they beat #9 Marquette. St. John's is all alone in first place in the Big East. Thank you Coach Rick Pitino! Woo hoo!

I did not know the history you shared about St. John's. Marquette is a hard team to beat. College basketball is my favorite sport of the year especially Big East . Sometimes it is the coach or a player I have been following through their college years. In my city we have a community college and it is great to be with friends enjoying the action.

Been a college hoop fan for years. Attended many NCAA tournament games all over the county and have been a season ticket holder for our local mid-major team for about 40 years.
While I still enjoy the game, with the advent of NIL and the portal things have changed. No longer do we get to see a freshman come in and develop over 4 or 5 years. We're lucky if we get to see keep them for 2 years before they're off to bigger money and bigger schools. Each year the team has so many new faces it's like starting from scratch.
We have a new young coach so we'll see how things go and if he can hold on to a pretty good nucleus. Happy to see St. John's doing well. Still enjoy watching games, it's just different.

I was born and grew up in Indiana and we had basketball running in our veins. I also went to IU, which was a basketball school.

Now, I can't work up any enthusiasm for the sport. It looks like a contact sport. If I want contact, I'll watch football.....which I do.
I live in Northeast Ohio, and people give me nasty stares when I tell them I have never seen Ohio State play
