I love doing the Zen color app.

Yes. I got the app and used it to do my first Zen picture. It’s orchids and I have to admit that it was very relaxing.

That came out nice Patty! Glad you find it relaxing.

@fancicoffee13 I've used coloring by number apps but either didn't care for the color schemes or found it difficult to fill in the pictures. Some had to be expanded so much (because of that, I use my tablet). I decided just to use apps I could choose the colors myself. If Zen color relaxes you and makes you happy, that's great. I hope you can find a way to share some of your work with us. :D

I found one on Microsoft called Zen: Coloring Book for Adults. I tried it very briefly. It looks fun but to close out, I had to sit through an obnoxious and loud ad. Taking out ads costs $9.99. It could be fun though. I'm going to try it out more thoroughly later.

I found one on Microsoft called Zen: Coloring Book for Adults.
I take this back. I downloaded Zen Color on my Android phone. They're not similar at all. Zen Color is a color by number. Zen: Coloring Book on MS is a coloring app where you have to decide on the colors yourself.

I did my first Zen Color picture on my phone. It took me 47 minutes. My scrolling finger got a workout. The tiny places that need to be colored are not always obvious. I had to zoom in and out quite a lot.

For those people asking upthread, it didn't need a stylus on my Android phone. You just touch the spots you want to color. The app does the coloring for you in the right areas once you identify which area the color is supposed to go.

I have it on my iphone and there is music or other soothing sounds in the background. Yes, it takes awhile to finish one, but it is so calming and plus I just love doing them! Some are more complicated and intense but you get a choice on what you want to do.
Do you do coloring pages as well with pencils, pens, etc. too? I just started with Johanna Basford's book Little Victories. Although I thought everyone would laugh at me as I usually paint landscapes and am learning to do portraits.

I've now done 7 Zen Color pictures. Lots of fun.

Thanks @fancicoffee13 and everyone in the thread.

One thing I've tried is in the preferences, I picked autopick the color. In that mode, it picks the next color for you. It's generally close to the last one. You can still pick manually but when that color is done, it picks the next one.

It can be jarring because it's hard to keep track of which color I'm on, but my scrolling finger to pick the colors gets more of a break.

That's what I do also! Fun! Sometimes it is hard to find that last space to color. Glad you enjoy it.

I'm not familiar w/the app so I looked it up. My question is..how do you color it? Do you have a coloring pen of some sort, or use your finger???
I assume you use the cursor. I used to have a paint app and that's how it worked; click on a pen, brush, or pencil, choose a color, and move your cursor around on the area you want to put the color.

In Zen Color in the Android app, you can just tap on the area that you want to color. You're not painting anything. It's a color by number so the app fills in the color in the designated space.

I don't think there's a browser version of Zen Color. It won't install on my tablet or my computer.

Oh. (y)

(Nobody answered @dobielvr 's question, so I took a guess...which is why I said "I assume ..." )

You must have me on ignore (or maybe you will after this) 😜

I answered the question in post #29. I answered it again because it's a fun app I don't want people to miss if they think they don't have the right equipment. :)
