I Love Dreaming About My Dream Life

My dream life would be without clocks.
In this day of rush, rush, rush we all seem to be in a hurry.
Go here, go there, pick the grandkids up, catch the shop before it closes, run for the train.
We all seem to be in such a hurry.
I used to be in such a hurry.
Quick, quick, before I miss out. Miss out on what?
I stopped and thought about this one day and came to the conclusion I was in a hurry to go nowhere. No where important that could not wait.
Time management was all that was required. I decided never to rush, rush again.
If I missed the train I would catch the next one. Shop about to close? wait until tomorrow.
Alvin Toffler wrote in his book Future Shock, ( Paraphrasing here. ) that society has been forced to participate in the rat race of life. To speed up our lifestyles, to keep up with the rapidly changing world or be left behind. Floundering in the quagmire.
If I could remove one thing from my life it would be Clocks. Everyone of us are ruled by time.
Imagine never having to look at a clock. Never having a deadline to meet.
Eat when hungry, sleep when tired. Work when you wanted to.
No more being ruled by time.

I know you are still employed, but I hope that in 2027 things change for you. I find myself to be so much more calm in retirement.

I used to honk my horn at people who didn't go immediately when the light changed. I couldn't understand why people would want to drive so slowly and spend so much time on the road when there were so many things to accomplish. I checked emails day and night. I had constant deadlines imposed by my company.

Now I commit to whatever makes me feel good, and I just enjoy my time in the car listening to music. I never wear a watch anymore. My clock is on my phone, and I only see it when I turn it on. I hope you get to experience this soon.

I am longing for retirement.
Life circumstances mean I will need to work until retirement age which is now 67. 2029
So sad that I never got my act together earlier in my life but it is what it is.
Which is why I go bush as often as possible.

Retiring was the best "career move" that we made. There is of course, a difference between retiring and "state retirement age". You can retire at any time, you just won't receive a state pension until a certain age. Unless you love your job, I recommend retiring as soon as you can afford to. Mrs.L and I quit our respective jobs in our mid 50's - and we've never been so busy! At least we can plan our own schedules - no more work commute or deadlines to meet.

There is still an element of time to be taken into consideration. When the stores open, the bus timetables, doctor's appointments etc... but many things can be done any time.

Life circumstances will see me have to work until retirement age.
Which here in Australia is now 67. 88 months to go.
Bad decisions years ago led to this.
