How many people remember watching, The Newsroom?
I watched it a few days ago and this scene stayed with me so I thought I would share it here.
Understand that I am not knocking Americans.
For the most part things are out of your hands because the Political System simply does what it want. Regardless of which Party is "Running" the Country.
So I ask you not to shoot the messenger. (Two F bombs in the clip)

When I was about 33 I was driving around looking at the theaters to see what was playing. I saw "Kiss of the Spider Woman", and thought it was probably some action movie like a Spiderman thing. Boy was I wrong!! :)

Kiss of the Spider Woman (Portuguese: O Beijo da Mulher-Aranha) is a 1985 Brazilian-American drama film directed by Argentine-born Brazilian director Héctor Babenco, and adapted by Leonard Schrader from the Manuel Puig novel of the same name. The film tells of two very different individuals who share a prison cell in Brazil during the Brazilian military government:

Valentin Arregui, who is imprisoned (and has been tortured) due to his activities on behalf of a leftist revolutionary group, and Luis Molina, a transgender woman in prison for having sex with an underage boy. A rare and entrancing story where one thing seems to happen while another thing is really happening. There are passages in the movie that seem to be absolutely self-contained, and then a word or gesture will reveal that they have depths we can only guess.

By the end of the film, what started out as a contest between two opposite personalities has expanded into a choice between two completely different attitudes toward life. And the choice is not sexual, although for a long time it seems so. It is between freedom and slavery. Director: Hector Babenco Starring William Hurt, Raul Julia, Sônia Braga.Music by Nando Carneiro and John Neschling.

Never saw Newsroom Bretrik. I've saw Eagle Eye, that featured far reaching AI technology used by government that seemed futuristic at the time (2008). Then there's I Robot. How long before we get to that point? @Paco Dennis I went to see Kiss of The Spider Woman with a colleague. We both walked out of the theater going WTH was that?! Didn't understand the ending at all.
