I met the sweetest dog today at the RV park where we are spending the summer. George, a 4-year-old mostly-Boxer-mix, is a retired bomb-sniffing dog who served in Afghanistan. He was retired after he was shot in the butt and tail and "lost his nerve for service", according to his owner.
He's a large mass of slobbering, kissing and dancing dogginess who loves the ladies and doesn't like men much (I'm assuming because of his military service). He almost knocked me off my feet with his tail (which recovered fine, thank you, from his shooting) and about took the skin off my knees with his sandpaper tongue. One doggie treat and I'm his favorite goddess.
I'm in love.
