I must be jinxed

Can't tell you how many times I've posted on a thread, and it dies. A thread killer! Or how many times I've responded to the OP of a thread and get no reply. Sigh. Makes me wonder if I'm either so disagreeable or such a bore that people have put me on ignore. Poor pitiful me:(

Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Really.

Would you like to hear about my cat? Or my garden? Or my opinions of the situations in the Middle East or Southeast Asia? Or China? Or fly-over country in the US?

That's funny Georgia. That describes me in public. The invisible man. Put me in a group of people; no one hears me, no one talks to me, and no one answers. No wonder I'm anti social. I don't think I operate on the same wave length as others ... duh.

Georgia, don't take it personally, it happens to us all, really. I've killed many a thread with my presence, have to say occasionally I'm even happy for being the murderer. :D But sometimes, I think people run out of useful responses and just say nothing, but, no indication that they didn't think on what you wrote, I wouldn't worry on it. You aren't missing out on much.

Post away! I am interested in what you have to say.

I would like to hear about your cat. I have 2 inside cats, 1 that goes in and out, and 2 that stay out and never come in. I also have a opossum, a raccoon, and dear that come by once in a while.

I also would like to hear of your ideas about the Middle East. It is of interest to me, since I am interested in biblical teachings and the happenings there are significant because I am interested in apologetics (the defending and promoting of the Christian faith). In my past, I've had many conversations with those of many religions. For example, during the 70's while the Shah was in power in Iran, there were hundreds of Iranians taking math classes in the community college where I was an instructor for years. I talked with them often about their faith (and considered many of them to be my friend). I've had friends who were Buddhist, who were Catholics, Mormons, and Jehovah's Witnesses, among others. I've also had many conversations with atheists.

But in my view, the fate of the world hangs largely upon what transpires in the Middle East, especially Israel. So what do you have to say?

Georgia, well join the club. I have posted on many forums and unless the topic is really hot I seldom get a response. Only one that did was military one and mostly got arguments in their posts. I gave up and just do my thing.

Tucker is a perfectly good 13-year-old cat. He's rather too fat, and I've tried to encourage him to diet, but he has a mind of his own and just ignores me. He lives entirely indoors. The two of us in my teeny tiny hovel pretty much fill it up. If he'd just lose a few pounds, we'd be more comfortable here.

Ex, The Middle East. Yes. It's a problem. We'd all be much better off if we'd just stop insisting that our way is better than somebody else's way.

Falcon? Isle of View? Clever. Very clever.

Shalimar, fishy and scaly hug? Sure. Whatever you have to offer.

Apple, I can't post a video...my phone is a dumbphone!

April, LOL about being happy to be the thread killer. Sometimes I'm glad to be the one who puts paid to a thread, too. Teehee.

I like to read most all threads and posts as long as it isn't gloom and doom. Sometimes I take a quick peek during the day when I pass my computer in the spare room. When I have more time to reply to the thread, sometimes it is gone and I forget what category it was in or the person who wrote it. I love cat stories and all animal related posts.

Hey Georgia, we all love you here! You get a big hug from me, too, and I don't even mind fish slime and scales left over from the mermaid!

Seriously, it seems to me that the forum is in a bit of a slump right now -- maybe it's post election shell shock or the alignment of the stars or something. I know I've been feeling kind of gloomy for some reason and haven't been posting as much as usual -- haven't been doing ANYTHING as much as usual.

I'm very interested in your cat and your garden, etc. I don't have a cat; I'm a dog person, but I think cats are definitely cute and I've had cats in the past. I just don't seem to connect with cats in the same way and with the same intensity I do with dogs. There's nothing like a big sloppy kiss from a big ol' dog when you're trying to take a nap!

I feel like a thread killer myself. But then when you've never been the popular type. Honestly I don't think I'm the best on forums.

But I'm never tired of cats and what's this about a US fly over? Tell me more.

Fly-over country in the US is what people in the vast metropoles north/south/east/west in the US call the Midwestern states...like Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa...places where the population is mainly rural and/or farm land. That is, wherever air traffic passes on its way from one place to another. In other words, fly-over country encompasses places where "you can't get there from here":)

Places you can't get there from here are the kind of places that roll up the streets at 9 p/m. Those survive as a place to live because believe it or not there are people that actually like living where being bored out of your mind is right for them.

I've certainly seen some beautiful land flying over the United States. With all the places to live, I wish I could explore some of them.

I post the most fascinating, and unbelievably insightful threads. They are works of great literature. Years from now, people will be studying them instead of that Shakespeare guy. But on the days I post them; the Forum must be down, because nobody can get in to comment on them. The Forum must go down an awful lot.
Who knows why when I post one of my threads, nobody replies; but there's 1,208 posts about chewing gum. It's the Forums Flying Fickle Finger of Fate (that's taking you way back to the 70s). Nobody knows why one thread gets tons and others none.

You are not jinxed. Maybe your titles should be catchy. I was attracted to this thread by the word "jinxed."

Also, remember there are many on Senior Forums who just come here to lurk. That's the way it is with all chat boards.

Just keep posting. We need you.

Aha! I'm going to Google "attention-getting words" and use them whether the subject has anything to do with the words or not.

Fuzz...I read lots of your threads and reply, too. So there.

Hey Fuzzy, here I am replying to you! The high point of my day today was going to the acupuncturist -- that gives you an idea of my wild and crazy social life.
